The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) will be administered on March 30, 2017.

A special notice regarding Inclement Weather Planning for the OSSLT was released on March 22nd by the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO).  In the event that a severe widespread weather disruption is forecast that will impact schools across the province, EQAO would postpone the March 30th administration for all schools in the province.  This would be communicated the day prior to the administration of the test.

In the event of a local weather disruption, the Simcoe County District School Board and the Simcoe County Transportation Consortium will make decisions about school closures and school-bus cancellations.

If schools remain open on March 30th, as is usually the case in the event of a school bus cancellation, the OSSLT will be administered. Students who are scheduled to participate in the OSSLT, and who are safely able to attend school, will write the test on that day.

Students who are not able to write the OSSLT on March 30th due to school closure or school-bus cancellation will have other opportunities to satisfy the literacy requirement; however, this does not necessarily mean that they will have the opportunity to write the test this school year.

Further information is available on the EQAO website at http://www.eqao.com.  Questions about Inclement Weather Planning for the OSSLT or any other aspects of the OSSLT can be directed to your
