Stayner Collegiate Institute (SCI) will become a Grade 7 to 12 secondary school in September 2018. Students from Byng PS and Clearview Meadows ES will attend SCI for Grades 7 and 8. This change is a result of motions passed by the SCDSB Board of Trustees during the Pupil Accommodation Review (ARC) completed in June 2016.
Many members of the community have questions about the change to a Grade 7 to 12 school. Answers to these questions are addressed in a Frequently Asked Questions document
. This document will be a living document, which is added to as new information becomes available.
In order to support this transition, a Transition Committee consisting of students, parents and staff from all three schools as well as SCDSB central staff, has been established. The committee will meet regularly during the 2017-18 school year to support a smooth transition for students and families. Minutes from those meetings are available here:
Joint School Council Meeting - January 29
Members of the Byng and Clearview Meadows school councils are invited to the SCI school council meeting on January 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the SCI library. Updates on the transition process, as well as information about planned events and activities, will be shared. Explore SCI - February 15
